The 20-year-old son of MVW Nutritionals CEO Michael Walters is going to pedal his way from Huntsville to Phoenix, Arizona to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease which affects more than 30,000 Americans.

Christian Walters is performing this daunting task not only because of his passion for cycling, but also for his work at MVW, which provides nutritional supplements for people with CF and other gastrointestinal disorders. His 45-day”Cycling For Awareness” campaign begins in Huntsville August 17, and he plans to arrive in Phoenix October 8 at the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference.

Christian isn’t taking the easy road to Phoenix either, not that a 2,000 mile journey is easy. Check out the map. His path will take him through the Rocky Mountains, and he will reach elevations 7,500 feet above sea level.

“It’s going to be an all-around amazing experience,” says Christian, “I’ll take on every hill and fight for every mile each day of my ride because this journey is about every caregiver.”

Michael, who started MVW in 2013, wanted to provide high-demand products for those suffering CF, as these patients need products different from the supplements others may take.

“These are very specific formulations and unique products developed to meet the care guidelines established for managing cystic fibrosis,” says Michael.
